How it makes a difference

Every year a home such as the Sustainable Mandurah Home could*:

• Reduce carbon dioxide pollution from coal-burning power stations by about one tonne
• Cut other pollutants produced by power stations
• Produce approximately 2,400 kWh of clean energy each year
• Save up to 44,000 litres of water every year by using the water captured in the rainwater tanks
• Reduce the amount of water needed to irrigate your garden by re-using over 100,000 litres of grey water every year
• Cut waste going to landfill
• Recycle newspaper, kitchen scraps and compost
